Beginning in 1929, Tautz started identifying Delta Specialty Co.The Delta name was difficult to trademark in other jurisdictions so the Tauco name was used instead. We are uncertain of the ownership of Tauco and it is possible that it existed before the 1939 Marshall Field buyout. About the same time Rockwell also purchased Crescent Machine Co. Delta Manufacturing became Rockwell's Delta Power Tool Division. Shortly thereafter, Delta tools were labeled Delta Rockwell. It appears that the saws and their motors were manufactured for Rockwell by A. O. Smith Corp., which had already been making motors for Rockwell, and possibly for Delta before the purchase by Rockwell. The former Callander Foundry continued to operated as Rockwell International of Canada, Ltd. In 1981, the line of handheld power tools was sold to Pentair Inc. of St. Paul, MN, which operated it as the Porter-Cable line—a name that had disappeared shortly after Rockwell bought the Porter-Cable Machine Co. Pentair operated it as the Delta International Machinery Corp., which included the Canadian operations. Also beginning in the early 1990s, Lindquist Machine corp.In 1995, Delta bought rip-fence maker Biesemeyer Manufacturing Corp. In the late 1990s, Pentair merged Delta's and Porter-Cable's manufacturing operations in Jackson, Tennessee. In 2000, the two divisions were formally merged. The new company is Delta Power Equipment Corp. The CEO has said that the Delta products currently manufactured in the United States will continue to be made there. DIGITALLY CLEANED Every page of every manual. Hi, I’m Ray. I’ve been in the woodworking business for over forty years. Twenty years ago, I decided to go into metalworking as well, in order to make the machinery and jigs that my woodworking required. Since then, I’ve accumulated many different machines, along with their manuals. As a self-taught craftsman, I’ve frequently needed manuals and books to help myself set up or operate complicated machines. That is why I started this service with my family- to make hard-to-find manuals easier for other craftsmen to obtain. I wanted to make the best quality, printed manuals to work with in a shop. After all, I remember the day when they didn’t even have computers. We do More than Sell Manuals My son and I do metal and woodworking in our shop. We make some of the smallest inlay in the world.

The duck call pictured has over 1,117 individual pieces of wood in it. You can learn more about our shop on our About Us page, or Ozarkwoodworker.com. We also try to help others identify their machines, and share some of the knowledge we’ve received over the years of experience with rebuilding machines for our shop. That is why we started Ozark Shop Talk Blog to give back to the many people that have helped us learn. We are self-taught machinist and woodworkers, and we had to use the How-To Books, and information in the manuals to learn ourselves. These carbide tipped planer and jointer knives will last approximately 10 times longer than our premium HSS knives and feature high-grade micrograin carbide that has been permanently bonded to a rugged steel body. This steel and carbide combination results in a knife that is super-durable and able to withstand the high speed stresses inside your jointer or planer far better than any other brand of blade out there. Since you won't have to sharpen these knives nearly as frequently as HSS knives, the time savings alone will be significant. Please, log in or register If we don't know the answer, we'll ask the other customers who have bought this product in the past for help and their responses will be posted here. Have a look at our CPJK-030 knives. They are the closest we have to your need but would not be covered under warranty if modified. It is a late 1980 model I don’t have any blades to measure. Looking for carbide tip Do you sell them? Be sure to measure all three dimensions, length, width, and height. We recommend measuring the knives currently in your machine to confirm the proper size. Be sure to measure all three dimensions, length, width, and height. You would need to confirm the physical dimensions of the knives to be sure we have knives that match. If u can get back with me I will send over the information that is needed for both of these knives. Thank u for ur time and cooperation in this matter Do you have these? Unfortunately, no master list of sizes and models exists so we can't confirm fitment based on model numbers alone. I was looking for the carbide tipped knives which in your site is listed as CPJK 010 but no holes.

Is there any way to make these work or is their a carbide option with the holes. If not can you recommend an upgrade to the stock knives. Thanks I am not aware of any upgrade options to recommend. Will a magnetic jig work with these knives to assist in setting them? Running too short of a knife in your machine will reduce the number of times the knife can be sharpened and at some point will become dangerous. Currently using replaceable blades with backer strip. Can I use CPJK-040 blades as substitute? Is it possible to do that and do you make. We do not have anything available that will fit. Was wanting some advise on Jointing the knives, the manual had basic info.Using a stone with the jointer running makes me think of bad things happening. Cant wait till I get it up in good working order, I think its a decent jointer Thanks Ron I send my blades out to get sharpened. I am going to buy a second set so I don't have down time. Get a spare set of knives and learn how to change them efficiently. Then take two boards the length of the jointer bed and joint them and put them edge to edge. If they match pefectly, you're golden. If not, then the work begins. The work of figuring out if your technique is off, setting of the knives is off or your tables need attention or all three. These are usually the ones that run 5,000 feet or more of a single run. If you can set your knives to within a thousandth or so it won't be a problem. Even if one knife is higher it will soon be level with the other knives. They've done this a lot for me with my vintage machines aquisitions. I would like to see some picks of your tools. I have 2 old power tools 24 in.Delta scroll saw, Boise Crane lathe.

Like you I didn't feel comfortable sharpening the knives in the method that was explained to me but regardless I tried it. I set all the blades with the knife guage then I let the outfeed table down just ever so slightly so the highest portion of the blades just start to touch the stone then very slowly let the out feed table down. When all the blades touch the stone evenly your done. The biggest problem I have with this method is the blades end up being somwhat rounded over becouse the drum where the blades attatch is round so the blades actually have a rounded edge to them. Of course I didn't have a lot to loose and it couldnt hurt them a lot more than they already were since I had hit a nail with the knives. I do have to admit that this method did work good for straightening the knives. I just ordered a new set of knives from Grizzly since thats the type of my jointer. I figure that I wont have any down time and I'll have this set resharpened. See the results and get an inside view of the process. Sign Up Now. To start viewing messages,Older, but lightly used and well maintained. Well tuned and works perfectly. The installed knives are newer and haven't see much use. Again, older but lightly used. Works perfectly. Like most lunchbox planers, it tends to snipe a bit. The installed knifes have little use on their second edge; first edge is somewhat dull. Local pickup only in Richfield, OH. This will take an hour or so. Your patience and understanding are appreciated. I am new to jointers but I spent a lot of learning about them and figuring out how to set the height the jointer knives. I tried running some walnut through it and it leaves quite a good finish on the surface however it is not FLAT. There always seems to be a bow on the length of the wood. (The ends are higher and it rocks slightly back and forth). It only rocks a little but I don't think it is good enough to glue together for a cutting board project I am trying out. Any help on what I can do?? I first thought the knives were set too low so I tried adjusting them all. (What a pain that was!!). Does anybody live in the Nobleton King City area that come over and take a look. I would be willing to pay you to help me adjust the settings to work. Thanks, DevinderI look forward to hearing back from you' feel free to PM me if preferred. RFest easy. It could be that the board your jointing it too long for the jointer to do it's job properly. Or not transferring pressure to the outfeed table. I like to check the boards prior to jointing and place it so the initial bow in the board is down, that way there is contact at the front and back of the board. The opposite way could cause it to rock which would be tough to keep the proper pressure while jointing. As far as tecnique (as above) joint the concave side down firstI look forward to hearing back from you' feel free to PM me if preferred. rest easy. I am reluctant to try to correct anyone but at times I think it is useful.

Novice woodworkers who are trying to learn can be mislead by some comments so I will risk being called picky. Item 2. in the quote above is not accurate. In fact a jointer can be used on the face, edge, corner, etc.It is common to face a board prior to putting it through the thickness planer. If I have misunderstood the comment in 2. I withdraw my comment.Longer boards require a longer planer bed. Then check your own jointer for proper set up. After that use scrap lumber for practice. When the confidence and results are good it's Prodject time. When starting with crooked boards work on only one side in the same direction with shallow cuts. You may note that the down pressure on the board can change the results so keep it consistent till you have a flat surface. Then move on to square one edge after which making a square rectangular board of even thickness will depend on the other equipment you have. With uneven boards keep the cup side down, the longitudinal bow up in the middle. Each board must be examined and a decision made on how to get a flat side. ( direction of feed, pressure points and how you transfer from infeed to out feed table, in some cases you may want to do only a partial pass concentrating on one end) I really appreciate the help. I don't have any pictures to upload but you can easily google it to see what it looks like. I was reading the manual and it doesn't seem like it has an adjustment for the outfeed table. So all I tried to do was use a straight edge (engineer square) and line up the knives at the top of their arc to the outfeed table. I tried it again and it still has a bow in it. I now people suggested that I joint the concave side first but that isn't an option because I tried all the sides of the piece and there are all bowed now.

I don't think its my technique as I am applying light pressure to the infeed table as I pass it over the knives and after there is room when it passes the cutterhead, I am transferring the pressure to the outfeed table. I know the bed is not very long (3 feet) but I feel like it should still be able to joint a 4 foot long piece properly. A much longer bed and newer model. Does anyone have any experience with this model. Thanks for the help fellows!I really appreciate the help. Thanks for the help fellows! Unscrew the knurled disc to unlock, then turn the large cylinder to adjust. You can always run the wood through again. Start with the wood to be smoothed on the right of the red blade cover. Use the orange push block to press the wood down and up against the fence. You will be pushing the wood to the left, and across the blade. Two jointers available.
