If I could give negative stars I would. Every time I go to type something the flimsy film ribbon is all balled up and I have to take the cartridge out and straighten it out. If I use the correct function then THAT ribbon gets all twisted and in the process it twists up the carbon ribbon. You can't see what you are typing or even where to start. If you are attempting to fill out a form, good luck positioning the print head where you want it. This would make a good door stop, but that's about it. I should have opted for a refurbished IBM Selectric!But like some of the other reviewers said, it's a pain to use. But the margins drive me nuts - when you put the paper in along the guide on the left, you'd think it would then let you type within a half-inch or so of that edge. But no, it won't let you get within a couple inches of the edge. Then when I get to the right side of the paper, same thing - and I remove the paper again and shift it to the left. I just need to study the margins in the manual and maybe I can figure out an override, if I could then I guess it would be a pretty good machine. But it also has a bug in it, probably just my machine: once you put it in shift lock, you can't unlock it unless you turn it completely off.Grandkids asked what kind of computer is that.
