Anderson 5.0 out of 5 stars Just put your artists in a folder (with the songs you like).Load up the micro sd card. I got in over 15 artist on a 2gb micro sd. Put the micro sd in the skyfi3 and you're in business. Same as shuffle. My mp3 are ripped at 256kbps. The sound is the best of all my mp3 players (i have an ipod). Good volume even with over the ear headphones.

I have 6 micro sd cards filled and just switch them out. Sd cards are a great backup for music files. I ended up buying a second one for spares. Battery lasts 8 hours. Kit includes car charger. My car connection is through the skyfi headphone jack and 3.5mm jack in the car stereo. Xm? Got the demo channel fine- maybe I'll try xm later.I got tired of my office radio and listening to the same 5 or 6 commercials followed by the same 5 or 6 songs. I am to lazy to download songs into an IPOD. It worked poorly in my car and not at all in my home but flawlessly in the office. Yes, I had problems with the unit locking up and there is no clear way to reset the unit. I think the locking up has to do with signal strength. In my office I am lucky enough to be on the right side of the building where the signal is strong and hence the unit is performing as expected. If you tune to a song and start recording, you'll be able to record only (to my knowledge) from the point in the song where to you tuned to it. B) It seems as though you can only use the receiver to receive XM signals if you purchase the separate antenna headphones, which I haven't tried yet. The unit (without a dock) only has the XM proprietary interface socket a the bottom, and no separate socket for an antenna. C) The unit charges well (when docked) and communicates easily with a PC via USB. I loaded one MP3 onto it and it plays well and shows the ID3 tags (song title and artist name) D) Searching by artist is very easy, and Tune Select bookmarks allow you to select certain artists or certain titles. When those titles are playing, you'll receive a reminder. Then too delete something it takes 7 steps.I have three accounts and have owned several models. I received this unit three days ago and have had nothing but problems. I have been unable to use the unit at all. It is stuck in the on position with 'Checking Media, Delphi and XM' displaying on the screen. I have already placed an order for a Pioneer.

I will be returning this unit.It should be noted that this is a reciever and can not be used without a, Vehicle kit, Home Kit, or Portable Kit. XM programing provides what I'm looking for. The audio quality is A1 After purchasing 2 home kits I can now use this reciever both at home and the office. Supplier delivery was perfect. Preview the artist and song title on each channel before selecting, and customize your channel list to quickly access your favorite channels on the main unit or with the full-function remote control. Choose channels from direct entry, 20 presets, the channel guide or the channel category search mode. SKYFi receiver must be used with a SKYFi adapter kit (sold separately). You'll get crystal-clear reception, whether at home or on the road, thanks to XM's powerful satellites and vast network of repeater stations throughout the continental U.S. With the SKYFi vehicle kit, the SKYFi radio receiver is easy to set up for satellite transmission through your car stereo.

Note that the SKYFi radio receiver requires a monthly subscription, as well as either the separately available home or car connection kit to receive XM radio signals. The SKYFi radio receiver also comes with a remote control with the same control buttons as well as an audio mute control. The remote control uses a 3-volt CR2032 lithium battery, available at most retailers that carry electronic products. The SKYFi radio receiver inserts neatly into the SKYFi Boombox for satellite radio wherever you want to take it. You can listen to one station while previewing program information on up to five other channels. Additionally, you can save the song and artist information displayed on the SKYFi radio receiver to help you remember your favorite songs when you hit the CD store. The line-out level control adjusts the audio level if it is too high, causing distortion, or too low for your car. What Is XM Satellite Radio. XM Satellite Radio was the first satellite radio service to be offered in the U.S. It features a state-of-the-art broadcast center in Washington, D.C., two Boeing 702 satellites (providing 18 kW of power--the most powerful commercial satellites ever built), and approximately 800 terrestrial repeaters located throughout the continental United States for seamless transmission. Service is not available in Hawaii or Alaska. XM Satellite Radio offers 101 channels, including 70 music channels, over 35 of which are commercial-free, and 31 news, sports, talk, and children's channels, broadcast coast to coast in digital quality. Autumn. 4.0 out of 5 stars Then, Sirius and XM combined and the knuckleheads took many channels I loved off, claiming you could hear the music on other channels. Liers. Fine Tunning (totally 24 hour eclectic channel playing from Patty Smith, to Bach, to Wishbone Ash.great to listen to anytime) Latin Jazz World Visions (totally 24 hour world music station.great to listen to in the morning to brighten it.) They were all removed and I am still pissed that XM destroyed such a good product. As well, their Sinatra channel used to be wonderful, playing golden nuggets from Sinatra, Holiday, Ella, Lee, Cole and others. They played more rare cuts. And on Saturday nights the DJ would through in contemporary artists singing classics like Bjork, Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Sting. Now it's all Frank when he is older and flat. Plus they used to have a channel called VOX, which was a dreamy blend of Opera AND Choral Music, which was often more Choral music.and Lord Save Me.was that a dream to fall asleep to a chorus of angels. Now I just use it in work and listen to the classical station lightly in the background. I used to listen to it everywhere in my house. Guess all good things come to and end. Well.then according to Newton, so must all bad things.

I hope they put the magic back in their product one day. Knuckleheads. My wife and I really enjoyed it and decided the home kit option was something we were very interested in as we don't spend long periods of time in our cars. I was reluctant at first because of worries regarding the antenna not being in a south-facing window. My stereo system is in a built-in entertainment wall and does not allow for the antenna to be pointed at a south facing window. After reading that many others have had success with the antenna in less than ideal areas, I decided I would give it a try. My house is 2 years old, one story brick with a normal pitched roof consisting of plywood decking and dimensional fiberglass shingles. It has 10 foot flat and tray ceilings. After hooking up the cables to my surround sound receiver and placing the antenna on the top of the stack of stereo components, I pointed the antenna generally to the south and toward the ceiling at about 45 degrees. I plugged the SkyFi in and immediately was getting two bars on the signal strength indicator. I do not have terrestrial repeaters in my area, so I am relying solely on the satellite. After a few quick adjustments I was getting 3 bars or it bounced between 3 and 2 bars. I was very happy to have it work, and it is not even close to sitting in a south-facing window. After getting a strong signal and hearing the sample channels loud and clear, I activated the subscription online. I timed it and it took 12 minutes before the tuner updated and began receiving all channels. I was pretty impressed it activated that quickly. I love the concept of satellite radio. I like to hear different types of music depending on the occasion or mood I'm in. XM is like a jukebox in the house with something new and different on each channel. I am terrible with song names and groups so I especially like to be able to look up and see the info on the Delphi display.

I picked XM over Sirius because I had a chance to hear it in the Avis rental car and I trust Delphi equipment. Satellite radio IS rocket science, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to enjoy all it has to offer. Overall, I am very happy with the SkyFi, the home kit, and the XM service. This product was worth every penny, as well as the subscription fee. I do not own a car, as I am legally blind. However, one does not need to own a car to enjoy XM radio. I live in the Coachella Valley in southern Central California, and quite frankly, the radio reception here bites, even on shortwave. I also live in an stucco reinforced apartment, with NO WINDOWS at all in my bedroom. My Sky FI radio rests in the boombox docking station, and sits on top of my televison set. The antenna is simply clipped to the back of the boombox, and I do not use a single inch 0f it's 20 foot cable. The radio works flawlessly. All 121 channels. No fading or digital artifacts. The sign up process was quick and painless. I was up and running in under an hour. Belive me, XM blows regular radio out of the water. My two favorite channels are 163 (Sonic Theater) and 164(Old Time Radio) These 2 channels are well worth the subscription cost alone. XM radio should side market this product to the visually impaired or blind as well. I could think of no greater a gift for someone blind, such as myself. An A PLUS!!!It fits in a boombox which gives us nice quality of sound. When we knew we had to find another radio for the boombox, we went right to Amazon and located it at a very reasonable price. It would have cost a LOT more to buy another whole setup. We could also transfer it to the receiver we had already hooked up in our RV. This was a BIG savings and so convenient to obtain. Recommend for anyone who needs to save the receivers they have by getting a radio replacement. He loved it.Once the service was re-started, there have been no issues at all.
