EAP-3660 features high transmitted output power and high receivable sensitivity along with antenna diversity. High output power and high sensitivity can extend range and coverage to reduce the roaming between Access Points to get a more stable wireless connection. It also reduces the expense of equipment in the same environment. The MAC address filter lets you select exactly which stations should have access to your network. In addition, the User Isolation function can protect the private network between client users. The attractive design, high performance, and array of features make EAP-3660 a suitable wireless solution for your residence or office.Hardware Specifictions. You'll find such information in the Manual of your EnGenius EAP-3660 router. But if you do not have the manual for your router or you do not want to read the whole manual to find the default login information then you can use the quick guide below. To get to the router login page it's necessary that you are connected to the router. The default password is admin. Sometimes the username and password doesn't work that we mentioned in the top of this guide.Did you try the following IPs? In the list below we listed all known router IPs for the manufacturer EnGenius. Maybe this will work for you. This can be done easily by clicking on the reset button at the back or at the bottom of your router. If you hold down this small button for approximately 20 seconds, (you may have to use a toothpick), then your modem will get restored to the factory settings. What you need to keep in mind is that when you reset your modem, you will lose your connection online. It is therefore better to take an expert's assistance in this regard. One Quick Installa t ion Gu id e. One CD-ROM with User ’s Manual. The follow i ng lis t describes some of the many applications made possi b l e t hrough the power and flexibility of wireless LAN s: a) Difficult-to- w ire enviro n m ents There are ma ny si tuations where w ires canno t be l a id e asily. Historic buildings, older bu ildings, open areas and across busy s t reets make the installation o f LANs either impossible or very expensive.Network Configurati on To better understand h ow the wireless LAN products w ork toge ther to create a wireless network, it might be helpful to depict a few of t he possible wireless LAN PC card network con fig u r ati ons. The wireless LAN products can be configured as: a) Ad-hoc (or peer-to -peer) for department al or SOH O LANs.http://ekinyalitim.com/depo/sayfaresim/ecmo-specialist-training-manual-book.xml

In ad-hoc m od e, each client is p eer-to- peer, would only have access to the resources of the other client and does not require an access point. This is the easiest and le ast expensive way f or the SOHO to set up a wireless network. T he image below depicts a network in ad-hoc mod e. b) Infrastructure M ode The infrastructure m ode requires t he use of an a ccess point (AP). In this mode, all wire le ss c ommu nication betwe en two computers has to b e via. If used in stand-al one, the AP can extend the ra nge of independent wireless LANs by acting as a repeater, which effectivel y doubles the di stance be t w een w ireless stations. The image below depicts a networ k i n infra structure mode. Ensure t hat t he IP address and subnet mask are on the same subnet as the device. For Example: Device IP address: 192. 168.1.1 PC IP addres s: 192.168.1.10 PC subnet mas k: 255.255.255.0 4. Click on the OK button to cl ose t h is window, an d once again to clos e LAN properties window. To configure the device through the web-browser, enter the IP address of t he Bridge (default: 192. 168.1.1 ) into the ad dress bar of the w eb-browser and press Enter. ? Make sure that the Bridge and your co m puters are on t he same subnet. Refer to Chapter 2 in order to configure the IP address of your computer. ? Username: a dmin; Passw ord: admin. After logging in you will see the graphical user interface (G UI) of the device. You will t hen see three options: m ain, cl ient list, and sy st e m log. Ea ch option is desc ribed below. W EP is an acrony m for W ire d Equivalent Privacy, and is a security protocol that provides the s a me level of security for wireless networks as for a wired network. O ptions availabl e are Open Key, S hared Ke y or A ut o. A n o pen system allows any c lient to authenticate as long as it confor m s to any MAC address filter polici es t hat m ay have been set. All authentication pac kets are tr ans mitted with out encry ption. Sha red Key sends an unencrypted challenge tex t st ring to any dev ic e at tempting to c o mm u nicate with t he Access PointP. The device requesting authentication encrypts the challenge text an d sends it back to t he Access Point. If the challenge text is encrypted correctly, the Access Point allows the requesting device to authentica te. It is recommended to select Auto if y ou are not sur e which authentic ation type is used. ? Input Ty pe: Select He or ASCII from the drop -down list. Key Leng th: Select a key f or m at from the drop-down list. 64bit-hex keys require 10 characters, where as 128-bit key s require 26 characters. Security M ode: Select WP A -PSK, WPA2-PSK, o r WPA-Mixed from the drop-down list if your wi reless network u ses WPA pre-shar ed key.

W PA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) was designed to improve upon the secu rity f eatures of WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy ). The technology is designed to work with exist ing Wi-Fi products that have been en abled with W EP. Security M ode: Se lect WPA or WPA 2 from t he drop -down list if y our wireless network uses W PA. W PA ( W i-Fi Protecte d Access) was designed to im prove upon the secu rity f eatures of WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy ). W PA provides improved data encryption t hrough t he Temporal I ntegr ity Protocol ( TKIP ), which scrambles the keys using a h ashing al gorithm and by a dding an integrity checking feat ure which makes sure that key s haven’t been ta m pe red with. The de fault is usually 1812. ? RADIUS Secret: Enter the sha red password o f the RADIUS serve r. ? High output power and high sensitivity extend wireless coverage to reduce the roaming between access points and to provide a reliable wireless connection. It also reduces the total cost of ownership on hardware. In addition, the user isolation function can protect the private network between client users. The attractive design, high performance and array of features make the EAP3660 a suitable wireless solution for your residence or office. I've set up 6 of these AP's at different office locations without any issues. The AP's are being used by all types of equipment (phones, PC's, Macs, tablets, printers, etc.) The range is excellent. I can access my 5th floor office WIFI from the restaurant across the street. I've had 1 unit running for 2 years without any drops. The built-in POE enables a very clean installation (like a smoke detector). I've has some bad luck with other WIFI products by Engenius, but the EAP-3660 is excellent. I'm doing another WIFI install next week and this will definitely be my choice for AP.Excellent set of security options. Includes instructions for loading it with DD-WRT.Webmin feels a bit dated.

I have had units in place at multiple locations for the last 6 months with no problems. The first one started having sporadic connectivity, then the web interface stopped functioning. Any device connecting to it would not obtain an IP, even setting an IP statically while connected, you couldn't get to the internet. Second one we tried to re-configure from scratch about 2 weeks after the 1st died by using the factory reset button. The factory reset button is actually a self destruct button I guess, because we were no longer able to access or find it again. Even in a closed network in our repair area.Contacted support about the second one failing, where support actually told us they are aware of the reset of death issue, and there is no way to recover the firmware. Again, we'll have to dig up our receipt and mail it in for a replacement. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Don't waste your time. These units far exceeded my expectations in terms of performance. We used a Cisco Small Business 10 port PoE managed switch to tie it all together.Including a PoE injector would have been nice.Click here for more details. Secure shopping made faster.
