Even the Kathrein 910 HD Sat Receiver seems to have a same Hardware layout and OS I have found support superb for itgate on their sellers site, also found their support on Dreambox excellent to and their cli image works my dreambox better than any other image i have tried. Regarding who makes them.they are made by Itgate in Korea, who also manufacture the Technomate boxes. Dg Station dont make them as suggested in previous post. I think both boxes are excellent boxes although find itgate has the better pic and sound quality.Having also read up on the other owners of itgates comments on there support site they rate not only the box but levels of support highly. Firmly believe this to be an excellent box with good support which will only grow as boxes popularity grows.Indeed their tgc200 at ?119 is superb value for a well specified linux box. I have had dream 500c, upgraded to 600c when launched and have had Itgate tgm 220 for some months now too, so hope this is seen as seeing both sides of debate. When trying to get CCCam to intall via the blue button I had to try loads of CCCams from here before eventually getting one to work properly.

Personally I wouldn't going buying anything claiming to be nagra 2 capable untill nagra 2 is implemented by vm, thas assuming if it actually does get implemented. The Kryptview fix for n2 came out a lot earlier than the Itgate one, however some people feel that the linux based boxes will be more likely to be able to handle n3 - if it ever gets cracked. Also the Itgate can be used on a satellite system. Both boxes have their fans, and the Kryptview would be cheaper than the Itgate models. The Kryptview is currently sold out as far as i know, and the Itgates are still available.

I have a DM 800 HD SE (Clone) receiver with an A8P security SIM which was originally supplied with a satellite tuner and which I have used for over Three years without any problems at all. I have recently purchased a (Clone) cable tuner for this receiver and have today attempted to get this cable tuner set up. I have installed the cable tuner in the DM800 HD SE. After several attempts and changing the tuners configuration settings I have re-scanned only to be met with the same message once all of the frequencies have scanned. I have connected an old cable box that I had from years ago (ITGATE TGM 220) to the line to test if this would be able to find any channels and it can find all of the UK FTA and subscription channels so I am certain that there are live services being broadcast on this cable. Until now I have only been used to satellite based systems where there are hundreds of FTA channels, many of them being in HD. I just had to start it manually through telnet. Later I added it to the startup script and now it's running fine at boot.

So far, everything NTL do to counteract this has been simply a waste of time. The speed at which the developers of the software for these boxes can find a way around the changes is phenomenal, which causes a minimal distruption to service. I’m sure it would be a nightmare for most users of the box to find out ways to get round these changes, but for the technical savvy, it’s a simple task. So, I went and had a look at TheBox for him. Specifications are exactly the same, even though it’s advertised as being an upgrade. Looking closely at the system, the only change really is the EPG (Electronic Programming Guide). In the past, when you scrolled thorough the channels to see what was on next, it would also change the channel. Very frustrating and quite useless. Now though, you can scroll through the channels to see what’s on, without changing channel. Another new addition is the time beside the info for each channel and it also shows what’s on next. It is also illegal to connect this item to equipment that you do not own, without prior consent. I hear you can use a splitter with your broadband and they’ll work from that too.It’s merely a “front cover” change, which is disappointing. I always imagined that it was simply a brute force hack that allowed them to crack the encryption and wondered what they could do to prevent this. Did you hear of this.

Do any of ye know how to download the channel line up from one starview box to another, it seems to take ages to do it manually every time i get a new box.I’m an installer and could use other channels in systems that arent being scanned by the box on set up. Also do we know for sure that the starviews will auto rotate when codes change, since i downloaded new software the cable provider hasn’t done a code change so i dont know. Galway area.
